TEARS:

Surface Tears - $5.00 & up
These are snags and scrapes that do not go all the way through the leather. Cost includes touch up dye where needed.

Free & Clear Tears - $15.00 & up (the average 2” tear is $25)
These are tears in an open section of leather. They are not close to seams, stitching of any kind, buttons, or snaps. They go all the way through the leather so there is an actual hole (but all the leather is there). The lining must be opened in order to repair the area and add reinforcement from the underside.

Tears in the sleeves will always run a couple dollars more than those in the body areas.

tips you can useTears Plus - $25 & up
These are tears at the pockets, belt loops, or the tear goes into one or more seams. Extra labor is required to take apart areas that will need to be re-sewn. Another cost factor is when a piece of the leather missing.

Pocket tears
Whenever there is one pocket that needs care, after repair, both corners of both pockets will be reinforced from the inside. Slit pockets run about $8-10 more, total, than flap pockets.

Panel replacement
Panels that have no pockets and are at the bottom of the jacket or sleeves are the best candidates for replacement. Panels that are sewn into the sleeve hole, collar, or have pockets will be labor intensive and probably not feasible.

Panel replacement is limited at this point in time. I'm building a general stock of the most common leathers; however, there are many shades of every color, and differences in weights and finishes. If I do not have a match the only other alternative would be to mail a sample piece of your garment to one or more tanneries or outlets in the attempt tofind a good match.  This would take some time.

Some leathers will mend almost invisibly.
